Using the Front Panel Interface 5-7
Preparing for the Initial ConÞguration
Before you start an initial conÞguration, you need the required information
ready and should establish a method of record keeping.
Required Information
Collect the following information:
¥ The
DL600E IP address and IP subnet mask for establishing a
Telnet connection to the
DL600E unit from a remote terminal
and enabling
SNMP network management capability.
¥ One to three
NMS IP addresses for enabling SNMP network
management capability
¥ Framing and line code requirements as speciÞed in the work
order from your service provider
Keeping a Record
You should keep a written record of each unitÕs conÞguration. Use the
ConÞguration Worksheet found in Appendix A.
